Winner of Giveaway and ANOTHER Critique Contest

Thanks to everyone who played along with Kristin last week. She randomly chose a winner for a signed copy of The Implosion of Aggie Winchester by Lara Zielin. And that lucky person is Melanie McCullough!! (Melanie, check your email.)

Now this next contest is for all you NaNoers. A member of YA Stands will be critiquing the first five pages of your NaNo first draft! And the best part...you get to choose when you want to "redeem" your critique (now or at the end of the month when your story is further along).

To enter, all you need to do is choose your favorite line from the draft you are currently working on and put it in the comments along with your contact information. And that's it! We'll be choosing a winner on Friday, November 11th.

Good luck!!

  1. I won't enter, since I'm not doing NaNo and I'm a YAStander, but this contest sounds like a great idea.

  3. Great idea! I'm already up to 15k and so far my favorite line is:

He reaches out to shake my hand so I don't; awkward introductions always amuse me.

I'm sure I'll clean it up later but I like how it shows my MC's personality.

  4. I've fallen a little behind schedule due to family issues, but at least I've hit the 10k mark. This is my favorite line:

A haircut would have been much more productive.

It probably makes no sense to you by itself, but, still, it's my favorite.
