Lately, I have been posting a lot about my finished manuscript and current agent search, but what I really want to share this week are the books I think everyone MUST read.
I am home in the summer, so I have more time to read the stories I have been collecting throughout the school year (I stockpile books all year long and actually have shelves of books TBR). During the summer months, I also borrow books from my public library so that I am saving some money:) This is also the first year that I have taken part in traveling ARC tours and reviewing books for my blog. All this means is that I have read A LOT!
By reading so much, I have gotten my hands on some fabulous books that I feel are MUST reads and I thought I'd share them with you.
Um, yeah. This soon to be released story by Katie McGarry should be on everyone's wish list. Not only is the writing beautiful, but the story is one that is unique and heart-wrenching.
My Summary: Echo has scars covering her arms, but she has suppressed the memory of how it happened. Noah has been bouncing around the foster care system since his parents died. His brothers are much younger and have been placed with another family, but Noah has little access to them. Together Echo and Noah discover secrets from their past and find the meaning of love.
Can I gush first about how much I LOVE Lisa McMann? Wow! This is now one of my favorite books!
My Summary: Ethan was abducted from his front yard nine years ago, right in front of his brother Blake. At sixteen, he finds his way back to his family. Ethan obviously has a difficult time adjusting to his "new" life with people who care about him. Blake has an even more difficult time accepting his brother back into his life, especially since Ethan remembers nothing of his past.
I can't share any more of this story because I don't want to giveaway a thing! Let me just say this, Lisa McMann keeps you guessing and sitting on the edge of your seat for the entire story!
Ms. Ashton, how I long for the next book in this series!! I learned something about myself as I read Everneath...I am a sucker for mythological re-tellings!
My Summery: Nikki is the modern-day Persephone. Cole has taken Nikki to the Everneath for the Feed. She longs to go back to her old life, one that includes former boyfriend Jack, but there is a catch. She can only visit for six months. At the end of this time, she needs to either choose Cole OR be sent somewhere much less desirable.
Now I have quite a few more books to read before I go back to work in late August, so I am sure there will be more that I fall in love with. I am currently reading Pretty Amy and already am enjoying it, plus I have a few others that I am dying to read like Carnival of Souls. Knowing how I love Melissa Marr, this book will definitely be on my favorite list soon I'm sure:)
What books have you read this summer that you want to tell everyone about?
