Early Valentine's Day

The fantabulous Kristine Asselin talked about the power of networking, paying it forward, and just being respectful and nice in the publishing world (and, let me add one more thing: ...and in life). I absolutely agree with her. I firmly believe that when we plant goodness, we harvest goodness.

So, that gave me an idea. I'd like for all of us to take some time today to say thank you to our tweeps, friends, and family members for their encouragement, patience, and support. You guys have no idea how many times my hubs wanted to hang out with me and I was too busy writing. He's the best for being so understanding and loving me even though I neglect him at times.

Here's my plan: feel free to go ahead and hug your loved ones in person; but, if you'd like me to post your thank you message here on YAStands, just leave a comment or shoot me a tweet, and I'll copy it and paste it below. It is, I guess, early Valentine's Day in the publishing world. You're also free to congratulate people you don't even know and say how much you admire them. It can be anything you want: a word of encouragement. A thank you letter. A 'I love you so much, be my husband' message to your favorite author. Anything.

Just leave a comment, or tweet your thanks with the hashtag #YAStands and I'll paste it here throughout today, January 24th.

THANK YOU

I want to give a colossal thank you to Fiona McLaren. She is my mentor for the pitchwars contest. This girl has fought so hard for her teammates, that I'm sure she's exhausted. Fiona was the first person to really believe in my book and go the extra mile for it. I'm humbled by her dedication, and wish nothing but the best for this fierce literary warrior. Thank you so much Fiona.

and : THANK YOU for helping me go through dark, 'my-writing-is-terrible' days. You are awesome!

Thank you, , for adding magic to my childhood.

Thank you, hubs, for being patient with me when I couldn't hang out with you and had to write. I love you.

Bear hugs to my lovely CPs,  & , whose encouraging words lift me up more than they know!

A huge virtual hug to my dedicated agent, Ted Malawer & my fabuous editor, Krista Marino. Such a lucky author!

A million winky faces to my boss editor Stacy Abrams for sharing her brain with me and giving me such amazing opportunities!
