9 Step Plot Method

I'm always looking for the easy route. I know, I know, that's not the right attitude, but I'm a busy woman! As I mature in my craft, I've come to realize that I need to plan instead of always winging it.

Enter the 9 step plot method.

I can't take credit for this, and according to Query tracker, either can they. Someone out in the world created this awesome, short, simple way to plot, and I use it all the time.

Go HERE and then come back and tell me what you think! Personally, this is how I do all my novels now. Having a visual to see all the plot points makes this pantser very happy.

  1. I love attacking a new story with a plan. There's something freeing about winging it, but ultimately it still comes down to plot steps, whether you do it during the first draft or the third.

  2. I always storyboard these days. It helps to keep my plot organized for sure.

  3. As a hardcore pantser, I always know the beginning and the end. Connecting the dots sort comes as I write. I will say, however, the nine steps is about as clear and concise as I've ever seen it, and it didn't take a full craft book to learn it.

  4. I hadn't seen this before. Thanks for sharing it, E!
