Pretty Little Liars

Three years ago, Alison disappeared after a slumber party, not to be seen since. Her friends at the elite Pennsylvania school mourned her, but they also breathed secret sighs of relief. Each of them guarded a secret that only Alison had known. Now they have other dirty little secrets, secrets that could sink them in their gossip-hungry world. When each of them begins receiving anonymous emails and text messages, panic sets in. Are they being betrayed by some one in their circle? Worse yet: Is Alison back? A strong launch for a suspenseful series.

Seeing that I LOVE the TV series, I wanted to see how the books compared. After reading book 1, I have to say that there were very few differences. Most of the characters in Sara Shepard's book are blond, but the characters cast for the show are mostly brunette. That doesn't really bother me. The only other difference that stood out to me were that the houses in the book were more like farms and had a lot of acreage surrounding them. The story line; however, was EXACTLY the same.

I haven't read any of the other books in the series, but I have students who absolutely love them. From what I understand, the book series does have a slight difference in plot, but the show remains relatively the same as the books.

Anyone who watches Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family knows this song. For me, when I hear this music begin to play I know I'm just seconds from one of my favorite weekly shows beginning. Love this song!

The original quote, modified for the theme song is:

"Three may keep a secret, if two of them are dead."
-Benjamin Franklin.

The biggest mystery of all--who is A? In the beginning, the girls are the only ones being sent annoying text messages. As the seasons progress, even the male characters are becoming harassed by this A person. Absolutely no one is safe!

This show has something for everyone--mystery, romance, and action. Now in its 4th season, PLL is still going strong. There are some changes in store come season 5. A town recently visited by Spencer and Toby called Ravenswood, is to be a new spinoff show staring Caleb. Yes, come October, Caleb will be leaving Rosewood:( If you haven't yet watched the episode where Ravenswood is visited, you must! It seems like an even creepier place to live that Rosewood!

Anyone else finding that these YA shows are getting more and more addicting? I think my DVR holds more teen shows than adult ones and they are NOT being recorded for my kids! Lol!
