Writing music: Preparing for NaNoWriMo

Hello! I am so sorry that I posted on the wrong day last time. There is no excuse for this apart from my lack of concentration. This week, however, I am going to share some of my favourite songs that give me inspiration, just in time for NaNoWriMo. How quickly has the year flown by?

1. There is a light that never goes out - The Smiths

This song is perfect for getting in that smushy lovey mood. In fact, the smiths are more appropriate than you think. Their lyrics are usually very literal, but when NaNoWriMo begins you will not have enough time to be analysing lyrics! This is why I thought The Smiths would be perfect.

2. Ever Enough - A rocket to the moon

Get your tissues at the ready. This band can write some really emotional stuff. ARTTM are not that well known in England, but I discovered their music through looking for Paramore music. This song can help when you write those all important love scenes.

3. Time Bomb - All Time Low

All Time Low are one of my favourite bands and their music has helped me through some pretty rough times. They have more of a rocky feel to them, but Time Bomb contains lots of meaning. I love it.

4. People help the people - Birdy

Birdy covers this song originally sung by Cherry Ghost beautifully. It reminds me of a more melancholy part to an adventure. You only have to close your eyes to imagine a scene. It is soft, which usually helps me write more.

5. Moon Shadow - Kate Rusby

Kate Rusby has a really gorgeous, raw voice. You should listen to more of her music, because they can really help with fantasy writing. She reminds me of a little fairy, and her voice does too. Moon shadow is just one of her cute songs.

I hope these help with NaNoWriMo! I don't know whether I'm going to be doing it this year, but if I do, I will keep you informed!

Good luck,
from The Book Critic x
