This week I started hearing buzz around Facebook for Thunderclap. At first, I groaned. Great, another social media time suck.
But it's not. It's actually pretty cool.
Imagine a social media style Kickstarter for free. You create a campaign promoting a cause, event or product. The campaign will contain a short tweetable message that can be shared via twitter, Facebook or Tumblr, and a description on what you're supporting. You pick a date and the amount of supporters you'd like.
Here's an example of the message that will go out on a social media blast.
As a supporter, Thunderclap will post this message, on the date of the blast, one time, as long as the number of desired supporters is met--similar to how Kickstarter works. A viral message. Love it.
