Dangers of the Gaming Writer

I sat down tonight all ready to write my awesome post and show the trailer for Tonya Kuper's debut novel, Anomaly, but guess what . . . I did that last week. For those of you that game, I'll give you a little hint.

Anyone guess what that's a pic of?  I'll tell you, the destroyer of all free time and social life, Dragon Age Inquisition.

I'm not embarrassed to say that I've logged almost 40 hours since last Thursday--and yes I have a full time job and kids. I'm slightly embarrassed to say that I wrote only about 2000k during that time, and I'm even more embarrassed to admit that if I put that much effort into drafting, I'd be done by now.

Who am I kidding. I'm not embarrssed. It's DRAGON AGE INQUISITION! lol

As a writer you can learn a lot from an epic game like this. Fighting, magic, LORE, plots, castles, weird yet completely interesting characters.

And then there's this guy.

Sigh . . .

I know I'm not the only writer out there who has been distracted with video games. If you write and you game, raise your hand! Share in the comments how you balance the two and if a video game has ever inspired you to write.

***Fenris from Dragon Age 2 inspired me to write a fanfic about him***

****And if you were wondering if Dragon Age Inquisition is worth the buy, as my favorite anime character would say, BELIEVE IT****
