Author Media: RHSLitfest Book Cover Doors

Two weeks ago I went to the Riverdale Literacy Festival in Fort Meyers. It's a two day event full of book signings, classroom visits and awesome teens. Every year the kids have a door contest. The class decorates their door based on one of the books being highlighted at the festival. The whole HS gets involved. It's really great. Money is raised for the kids to get a free book of their choosing. Out of 2000 kids, 1850 requested a book. How ill is that?!

Below are all the different doors. There were many more, and some I missed, but I tried to take a shot of as many as I could.

If you want to check out the authors, here's a link to Riverdale's site where you can see which books were at the festival.

Here's a pic of me and my girl Kayla. She's the artist of the fan art in Wicked Path. She is so sweet and super talented.

(The festival is so much fun that I hopped on a plane at 7 months pregnant to be there!)

Also, for those of you who haven't done a book signing, candy is a MUST. If you leave out the candy, they will come. Grab some skittles, grab a bookmark! It works, people.
